CHANDLER, Ariz. — Teddy Higuera was placed on the 15-day disabled list today by the Milwaukee Brewers, who are sending their ace left-hander to the minor leagues on a rehabilitation assignment. Higuera, 69-38 in four major league seasons, underwent back surgery Jan. 20 and has not pitched an inning this spring.
Higuera will go to the Brewers’ minor league complex in Peoria, Ariz., and then start the season with the Brewers’ Double-A Texas League affiliate at El Paso.
