April in Paris

“Santa Barbara”--far more popular in France than it is here--heads to Paris early next month to shoot 10 episodes on location. (Shown weekdays here in hour format since 1984, the NBC soap began airing nightly in half-hour form in France in 1985, which means the French will have to wait years to view the new material.)
“The show is enormously popular in France and we wanted to enjoy some of the fruits of that popularity (and reward the audience) with a gorgeous, romantic location,” explained exec producer Jill Farren Phelps.
The storyline has Eden (Marcy Walker) and private eye hubby Cruz Castillo (A Martinez)--whose baby was kidnaped earlier this season after Eden was raped--involved in espionage, romance along the Seine and a mysterious rendezvous at the Eiffel Tower.
Soap insiders are buzzing that the Castillo baby may be found alive in a Paris park--for airing during the May sweeps period.
