Cutting Pillsbury Staff: Grand Metropolitan PLC, in its first move to prune its Pillsbury Co. subsidiary, unveiled plans to slash the company’s headquarters staff by nearly a quarter. Pillsbury, bought by London-based Grand Met in January, said it plans to cut its home office staff by 550 people, representing 23.4% of head office personnel.
