IN BRIEF : Swiss, Austrians Lead on Bobsleds

CORTINO D'AMPEZZO, Italy — Switzerland II and Austria I dominated the second-to-last day of qualifying runs in the four-man competition Wednesday night at the World Bobsled Championships.
In the first run, Switzerland II, driven by Gustav Weder, finished first in 53.63 seconds but fell to fourth place in the second run. Switzerland I came in second in 53.69 and West Germany third in 53.98.
In the second run, Austria I finished first in 54.04, with Switzerland I trailing by .02. Austria II came in third in 54.15.
