Girls’ Roundup : Jalewalia Paces La Quinta Victory

Amy Jalewalia scored 30 points to lead La Quinta High School to a 76-29 victory over Garden Grove Wednesday in a Garden Grove League girls’ basketball game at Garden Grove.
Jalewalia, a junior forward, also had 12 rebounds, nine steals and five assists. Teammates Heather Brannan added 20 points, Jennifer Jeffries 11 and Tanya Krill 10.
La Quinta (20-3, 13-0) is in first place.
Marla Magsig led Garden Grove with 10 points.
In another Garden Grove League game:
Kennedy 51, Pacifica 27--Michelle Harris scored 17 points and Valerie Ruiz added 12 to lead Kennedy (10-9, 9-4) at Pacifica. The victory clinches a Southern Section playoff berth for the Fighting Irish, who are in third place.
