NBC, which once went to PBS to get a new president for its news division, Wednesday hired Peggy Hubble, formerly PBS’ press relations director, as chief spokeswoman for NBC News. Hubble, with PBS for six years, succeeds Mary Lou O’Callaghan, who last month left NBC News after six years. O’Callaghan’s departure was unrelated to the exit last July of NBC News president Lawrence Grossman, a former PBS president. He now is in private production in New York.
