Fresno County Coroner David Hadden confirmed that a 17-year-old Clovis West High School student died of a form of meningitis known as meningococcus. David Atamian left school after becoming ill during morning classes and died later at St. Agnes Hospital. Hadden said students at the school and their parents were being warned that students who had close contact with Atamian should see a physician.
