HOUSTON — An arbitrator ruled today that Houston first baseman Glenn Davis will earn $1,085,000 this season instead of $875,000 offered by the Astros.
Davis was voted the Astros’ most valuable player after last season, when he finished second in the National League with 30 home runs and ranked fifth with 99 runs batted in.
Arbitrator Stephen Goldberg announced his decision after hearing proposals from Davis’ agent, Robert Fraley, and Astros management.
