Local News in Brief : Westminster : 17-Year-Old Killed in Collision of Cars

A 17-year-old from Huntington Beach was killed Monday when the car in which he was riding collided with another at a Westminster intersection, police said.
Matthew Ullrich was riding in a car driven by another 17-year-old northbound on Golden West Street about 2:30 p.m. The driver, who was not identified, turned left onto McFadden Avenue and was struck by another car, driven by Jeffrey Merlo, 22, of Los Angeles, Westminster Police Sgt. Russell Silva said.
Ullrich was killed instantly by the impact, police said. Merlo and the 17-year-old driver received minor injuries. The drivers were not cited and the accident is under investigation, Silva said.
