A policeman shot and wounded one of two burglary suspects caught trying to break into a medical building early Saturday, but the wounded man ran off and remained at large, authorities said.
The shooting occurred after police were notified that two men were trying to break into a building in the 3900 block of Beverly Boulevard. When officers confronted them, one of the suspects surrendered but his accomplice turned toward the officers with a gun in his hand, police said.
One of the officers fired a single shot at the man, who grabbed his shoulder before running off, police said.
