Local News in Brief : ‘Underwear Bandit’ Case Plea Entered

Out-of-work bus driver Bruce Allen Lyons pleaded no contest Monday to being the “Underwear Bandit” who robbed 21 businesses in Los Angeles and Orange counties and forced women employees to give him their panties.
Lyons, 33, of Moreno Valley pleaded no contest in Long Beach Municipal Court to 23 counts of robbery, five counts of sexual battery and two counts of lewd conduct.
Lyons was ordered by Judge James Wright to remain in custody on $1-million bail pending sentencing Jan. 9.
