Lot of Money for a City Seal
Iwas partially amused, but mostly disgusted, to read of the approval of the new city of Santa Clarita seal (Oct. 15). Five thousand, five hundred dollars was spent to develop this symbol of our city.
I wonder what would have happened had the backers of Santa Clarita publicized, as part of their cityhood bid last year, that one of their early concerns would be to drop $5,500 on a seal. Would people have gotten wise and voted against this disaster of a city?
I opposed cityhood because I was afraid of just this type of irresponsibility. My concern now is that my worst fears are only beginning to be realized.
The people of this area will get wise, but by that time, they probably will have no money left with which to do anything.
