FBI Turns to Public in Hunt for Bank Robbers

The FBI said it is seeking public help in nabbing two armed robbers believed to have held up 42 Southern California banks since May.
One, dubbed the “Big Brush Bandit” for his thick, drooping mustache, has fired into a ceiling and, in one case, shot at a teller, but the handgun misfired, said Jim Neilson, an FBI spokesman. The gunman is believed to have held up 19 banks throughout the Los Angeles area--the last on Nov. 1, Neilson said.
Also sought is Shelley Michelle Lee, 25, who has allegedly robbed 23 banks with a semiautomatic pistol she pulls from her purse, Neilson said.
