Two Late Goals Lift CSUN to Soccer Win

Scott Piri’s penalty kick with 5 minutes to play gave Cal State Northridge the lead and sparked the Matadors to a 3-1 victory over Cal State Bakersfield in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. soccer match Saturday at Northridge.
Jim Hofferber added a final goal for the Matadors with 14 seconds to play. Keith Martin scored CSUN’s first goal.
CSUN is 12-7 overall, 6-2 in conference play. Bakersfield is 12-4-1, 4-4.
The win lifted CSUN into a tie for first in the CCAA with Cal State Dominguez Hills.
