Local News in Brief : Firm Hired for Zone Plans

An Anaheim firm will prepare specific plans for commercial and multifamily residential zones in Palos Verdes Estates.
The City Council this week approved a $25,000 contract with the company, Community Dynamics.
Since March, the city has had a moratorium on construction in commercial zones and a moratorium on construction in multifamily residential zones has been in effect since July. Both were imposed to give city staff time to evaluate and update codes governing the construction of office buildings and retail outlets, condominiums and townhouses.
The city staff hopes to have both plans completed and approved by the council by March 15.
