Longshore’s Widow Says She Backs Pringle

As expected, Linda Longshore, the widow of Assemblyman Richard E. Longshore (R-Santa Ana), on Saturday endorsed Republican Curt Pringle for the seat her husband held.
Longshore made her endorsement in a press conference at Pringle’s headquarters in Garden Grove. The day before, Longshore had said she was “livid” that the Democratic challenger in the 72nd District race, Christian F. (Rick) Thierbach, had tried to link himself to her late husband in a political mailer.
Afterwards, Pringle expressed elation at finally winning an endorsement from Longshore’s widow.
“I think it’s very valuable to have her support, as I always thought it would be,” Pringle said.
Linda Longshore, 32, had actively sought the Republican nomination for her husband’s seat. But the Orange County Republican Central Committee chose the 29-year-old Pringle.
