FENWICK, W.Va. — A division of B. F. Goodrich that makes products including inflatable life rafts for the U.S. Navy will be sold by the firm to a group of management employees.
The Engineering Rubber Products unit, with headquarters in Uniontown, Ohio, employs 200, most at its Nicholas County, W. Va., plant. The unit designs and manufactures rubber specialty products, including life rafts, helicopter emergency flotation systems and inflatable storage tanks.
Goodrich announced that it has reached an agreement in principle to sell the unit to the group of employees in the aerospace division.
Earlier this year, the division was awarded a $9.9-million contract to produce 850 25-man lifeboats for the Navy.
