Local News in Brief : Officials Tell Cause of Food Poisoning

Food poisoning that struck 23 guests at a Pacoima wedding over the weekend was apparently caused by food that had not been properly refrigerated, county health officials said Monday.
Twenty-three people were treated and released from area hospitals after the Saturday afternoon wedding, for which the bride and groom, family members and other guests brought home-prepared food, including chicken tacos, cheese enchiladas, tostadas and cake.
Officials said the victims complained of nausea, headaches, diarrhea and cramps after eating, but no one was seriously ill. Health investigators had not pinpointed a specific dish or ingredient as the cause of the problem, Staheli said.
