WOODSTOCK, Ill. — A woman who said she shot her husband 14 times because he had beaten and abused her for years was acquitted of murder last week.
Cynthia Iandola, 36, was charged with first-degree murder after she shot her husband, Jack, in the kitchen of their home last January.
She contended that the killing was in self-defense because her husband had threatened to kill her and their two children. She also said he had raped her and threatened to rape their 13-year-old daughter.
