Santa Paula 46, Moorpark 0--Quarterback Rick Carpenter connected on 18 of 32 passes for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the Cardinals at Moorpark.
Santa Paula’s Chris Cole caught 6 passes for 124 yards and 3 touchdowns. Carpenter has passed for a Ventura County-leading 1,200 yards in 5 games.
Running back Jerry Torres scored twice, Jamie Jimenez scored once and defensive back Everett Corona returned an interception 31 yards for a touchdown for the Cardinals.
Moorpark gained only 63 total yards, 31 coming on the game’s last play. In the second half, Moorpark was held to minus-3 yards before a 31-yard pass play from Robert Hernandez to Jeff Cox. Hernandez threw 2 interceptions.
Moorpark’s Chuck Silverest carried 7 times for 25 yards.
