The San Diego Civic Light Opera (Starlight) will include a second Civic Theatre production in its upcoming season with “Peter Pan” playing from May 25-June 4. The group returns to the Starlight Bowl for “The Sound of Music,” June 29-July 16; “Pal Joey,” July 27-Aug. 13; “Dreamgirls,” Aug. 24-Sept. 10, and finishes the season at the Civic with “La Cage Aux Folles,” Oct. 12-22.
By 1990, Starlight hopes to move indoors for performances January through March. “Maybe we can find a smaller space where we can try out original musicals. But we will never give up the Bowl,” a Starlight spokesman said.
According to the latest Starlight poll, 80% of the audience wants to keep going to the outdoor bowl--airplanes and all.
