Prep Roundup : El Dorado’s Balance Beats Newport Harbor in Water Polo

Four players scored three goals each to lead El Dorado High School to a 14-10 victory over Newport Harbor Tuesday in a nonleague water polo match at Newport Harbor.
Snow Bell, Scott Fairchild, Greg Milton and Matt Maclear scored three goals each for El Dorado (3-3).
El Dorado led, 4-2, at the end of the first quarter, 7-5, at halftime and 11-7 at the end of three quarters.
In other nonleague water polo:
Marina 11, Fullerton 9--Jason Cox scored four goals, including three in the final quarter, to lead visiting Marina (7-7). Kevin Dillenbeck had 15 saves for Marina.
In Garden Grove League water polo:
Kennedy 19, Santiago 7--Todd Hilts had 7 goals for host Kennedy (6-1, 3-0).
In Orange League girls’ tennis:
Valencia 15, Brea-Olinda 3--The Tigers swept the singles matches at home. Julie Williams won at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, Lori Klocke swept at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, and Allison Granger also swept at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0.
In South Coast League girls’ tennis:
Dana Hills 14, Irvine 4--Kelly Lynch won at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2, 6-2, for visiting Dana Hills.
In Empire League girls’ volleyball:
Esperanza 3, El Dorado 0--Jenise Webb had 9 kills and Heidi Andersen had 24 assists for host Esperanza (4-1, 1-0) in a 15-4, 15-6, 15-8, victory in the league opener for both teams.
In Sea View League girls’ volleyball:
Newport Harbor 3, Tustin 0--Maureen McLaren had 9 kills and Sienna Curci had 18 assists and 4 kills to lead Newport Harbor to a 15-1, 15-3, 15-8, sweep at home.
In Sunset League girls’ volleyball:
Edison 3, Huntington Beach 0--Aimee Achenback had 11 kills and Cari Gladstone 8 to lead Edison to a 15-6, 15-7, 15-11, sweep at home.
In Angelus League girls’ volleyball:
Mater Dei 3, St. Paul 1--Wendy Dumsolton and Lisa Miccio had 8 kills each for host Mater Dei in a 15-2, 12-15, 15-9, 15-8 victory.
In Arrowhead League girls’ volleyball:
Southern California Christian 3, Calif. School of the Deaf 0--Laura Hatcher had 6 kills and and 3 aces and Cathee Osborne had 4 kills and 3 aces to lead the Flames to a 15-1, 17-15, 15-2, victory at home.
