From our Stranger Than Fiction file: Classical music proved more popular in Detroit than rock ‘n’ roll--at least among those listeners of two Motown FM stations who could afford to vote for one of the two at a dollar a vote. The “Rock Vs. Bach” promotion ended Friday, with classical WQRS-FM drawing 6,209 votes and rock station WCSX-FM garnering 4,311. The $10,520 was donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit, which provides inexpensive lodging for families with children hospitalized at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, WQRS program director Dave Wagner said.
