Your piece on the expansion of Otis/Parsons (Sept. 11) was of special interest to me and, no doubt, to others who have been exposed to New York City’s New School for Social Research.
It is gratifying to know that L.A.’s art institute will maintain its academic affiliation with the New School which has consistently been in the forefront of creativity and advancement in the arts and sciences. It is no wonder that Otis/Parsons attracts students throughout the world and encourages international give and take.
Your article leads me to hope that the expansion and additions will include some renewal of the neighborhood, which, of course, affects the environment of this inspiring institute.
