Local News in Brief : Man Shot in Gang Clash in Hollywood

A young man was critically wounded Tuesday in a confrontation between members of two rival gangs on a Hollywood street corner, police said.
The 18-year-old man, believed to be a gang member, was shot at the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and El Centro Street about 1:15 p.m., Lt. Gabe Ornelas said.
The victim, whose name was not released, was apparently taken by his associates to County-USC Medical Center, where he was reported in critical condition.
Other details of the shooting were not immediately available.
