A San Diego man escaped from the Orange County minimum-security jail near El Toro sometime Monday night, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department reported Tuesday.
Craig E. Clifford, 30, was incarcerated at the James A. Musick branch jail for failing to appear in court on charges of driving with a suspended license and without proper lights on his license plate.
Clifford was discovered missing in a late-night head count of inmates, according to Lt. Richard Olson of the Sheriff’s Department. The method of escape was being investigated.
