Ambassador Raphel Buried at Arlington

WASHINGTON — Arnold L. Raphel, the U.S. ambassador to Pakistan who was killed last week in the plane crash that also took the life of President Zia ul-Haq, was buried Monday in Arlington National Cemetery.
Raphel, 45, a Foreign Service officer since 1967, was eulogized earlier before more than 1,000 mourners in Ft. Myers Chapel, near the cemetery across the Potomac River in Arlington, Va.
Speakers at the memorial service included former Secretary of State Edmund S. Muskie.
