Stock car driver Buddy Baker was in the intensive care unit at Charlotte Memorial Hospital after doctors removed a blood clot from his brain in an operation that was called “very successful.” Baker, 47, joked that he felt well enough after the operation to come to the hospital’s auditorium and hold a press conference on his condition, according to Dr. Jerry Petty, Baker’s neurosurgeon.
