The Greater Los Angeles Visitors & Convention Bureau’s new Visitors Information Center officially opens Monday in the Los Angeles Hilton Hotel & Office Building at 695 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles.
A film on Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore will highlight a lecture program sponsored by the Bon Voyage Travel Club at 7:45 p.m. Friday in the Community Room, 9696 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills. Admission $5. For more information, call (213) 476-4869.
“South America--From the Amazon Jungle to Machu Picchu,” a lecture and slide show, will be presented by Mort Loveman next Sunday at 1:30 p.m. “South of the Cloud--Magical Southwestern China,” also slides and a lecture, will be presented by Tovya Wager at 4 p.m. Admission is $5 each. Air Canada will expand its smoke-free flights Sept. 3 to all of its North American routes, including trips linking Los Angeles and San Francisco with eastern and western Canada. Air Canada flies nonstop to Toronto/Montreal in the east and Calgary/Edmonton in the west.
