In response to “Bush Hits Fish Remark,” Part I, Aug. 2:
It is incomprehensible that Vice President George Bush should take exception to the quotation used by Gov. Michael Dukakis, “Fish rots from the head first.”
He found it “very tasteless and offensive.” This from the man who bragged, “We kicked some ass,” after the debate four years ago with then vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro. Now, that’s “tasteless and offensive.”
