Rambac, second in the Bay Meadows Futurity but a disappointment since, rebounded Saturday night at Los Alamitos to win the $150,000 Governor’s Cup Futurity during the Orange County Racing Fair.
The gelding, sired by Tolltac, broke the stakes’ record with his 17.51-second clocking for 350 yards.
Rambac, trained by Connie Hall, earned $65,250 for the effort to push his first-year earnings to nearly $120,000.
Rambac returned $31.20, $7.80 and $5.40. Rhythm And Ruffles paid $3.20 and $2.80, and Bad Beduino returned $4.
