A Pasadena man was in custody and another man was being sought in connection with the robbery of a Glendale jewelry store, police said Saturday.
Edward Martinez, 18, was captured with the aid of a helicopter and a police dog shortly after he and another man allegedly robbed Morrie Price’s Jewelry on West Glenoaks Boulevard about 12:45 p.m. Friday, Sgt. Mel Barnes said.
Martinez, who was treated at a hospital for a dog bite, was booked for robbery and was being held in lieu of $6,000 bail, Barnes said.
Most of the jewelry that the robbers took from shop owner Morrie Price has been recovered, Barnes said.
Price chased the suspects, one of whom was armed with a handgun, until Glendale and Burbank police arrived and cornered Martinez near the border of the two cities, authorities said.
