4 Arts Groups Win High Rankings From State Council
- Share via
Four major arts groups in Orange County have received high rankings from a California Arts Council advisory panel. According to council officials, South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa received a 4, the highest possible ranking on the scale.
The Pacific Symphony in Santa Ana was ranked 3+. The Newport Harbor Art Museum in Newport Beach and Opera Pacific in Costa Mesa each received a 3.
The rankings--which reflect artistic quality, administrative and fiscal competence, and the quality of community outreach programs--will be used by the Arts Council on Aug. 25 and 26 when it meets to determine how much money to award to the groups this year.
The four organizations fall into the council’s Prominent category of groups with annual budgets that exceed $1 million.
