Local News in Brief : Countywide : Residents Will Be Asked to Cut Water Use 10%

The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to ask Orange County residents to voluntarily cut home water use by 10% to relieve problems caused by drought.
“This does not mean drastic life-style changes,” said Supervisors Chairman Harriett M. Wieder, who proposed the resolution.
Wieder suggested that the reduction could be accomplished by repairing leaks in plumbing, not overwatering lawns, and sweeping sidewalks and driveways instead of hosing them off.
