Santa Fe Southern Pacific Corp.’s second-quarter income totaled $101.2 million, 12% above the year-ago period. Revenue was $1.497 billion, up 14%. The Chicago rail, oil and gas company credited the results to real estate activities, which more than doubled, and a continuing strong performance by the transportation group, which more than offset a $120.2-million increase in interest expense related to a first-quarter restructuring.
