Asner Agrees to Support Child

Actor Ed Asner agreed this week to pay more than $2,100 in monthly support to the mother of a child he admits is his, a spokesman for an attorney in the case said today.

Richard Borden said that in a court-assisted settlement, Asner will pay $2,000 for expenses and $100 for medical insurance each month to support Charles Edward Vogelman as well as the monthly mortgage payment on a $300,000 condominium where the 10-month-old child lives with his mother, Carol Jean Vogelman. Asner became involved in the court action when Vogelman’s ex-husband, David Stone, alleged his $3,000 monthly alimony payments were being used to support a child he did not father.
