A fire caused $450,000 in damage to a North Hollywood automobile engine parts store late Saturday, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said.
About 35 firefighters battled the blaze, which broke out at 11:42 p.m. in the 18400 block of West Sherman Way, an industrial area. The fire, which engulfed the one-story Califa Engine and Parts Co., was extinguished in 22 minutes, said Jim Williamson, a Fire Department spokesman.
The loss to the structure was estimated at $100,000, Williamson said, and the loss to the building’s contents was determined to be $350,000. The fire was caused by an electrical short, officials said.
