L.A. metal kingpins Guns N’ Roses have canceled upcoming appearances as the opening act for Iron Maiden due to singer W. Axl Rose’s acute case of laryngitis. Southland shows affected: Wednesday and tonight at Irvine Meadows, Friday at the San Diego Sports Arena and Sunday at the Forum. But local Gun fanciers might enjoy the substitute act: L.A. Guns, augmented by Guns N’ Roses’ guitarists Izzy Stradlin and Slash.
