Korman, Gallegly Garner Endorsements

Republican congressional candidate Sang Korman has been endorsed by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters while Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley) has added to his GOP support with the backing of the San Fernando Valley Young Republicans and the Young Americans for Freedom.
Korman, of Newbury Park, said in a news release that his endorsement by Joint Council No. 42 of the Teamsters was “proof that a conservative Republican can build bridges of communication to organized labor.”
Gallegly, who is supported by Vice President George Bush and nearly all of the local party leadership, called the Young Republicans and conservative YAF “two of the best-organized and most influential Republican grass-roots organizations anywhere.”
Gallegly and Korman are opposing each other in the June 7 primary in the 21st District. A third Republican candidate, David Desko of Canoga Park, has no institutional support.
