Local News in Brief : Countywide : 13 Youths Honored for Anti-Drug Posters

Thirteen students have been honored for their artwork in the sixth annual Drug Abuse Prevention Poster Contest.
More than 500 entries were received from county public and private schools. The theme “Live Drug Free” was an effort to educate young people about the benefits of leading a life free from drugs and alcohol abuse.
The winners are: Kyle Alexander, Laguna Niguel; Bevan Reilly and John Morris, Laguna Beach; Jacob Grasz and David Krogle, Irvine; Rosemary Reyes, Fullerton; David Wong, Cypress; Theresa Nguyen and Jennifer Bell, El Toro; Russel Van Wie, La Palma; Bob Mortensen and Kalie Andrews, Mission Viejo, and Vicente Lopez, Santa Ana.
The project was sponsored by the county Board of Supervisors, Department of Education, Drug Abuse Services, Substance Abuse Prevention Network and First Interstate Bank.
