Former Temptations lead singer David Ruffin was found guilty in a Detroit court of cocaine use and was ordered to undergo substance abuse treatment. Judge John O’Brien, who heard the case without a jury, reduced earlier felony charges of possession of cocaine. Last week, Ruffin appeared in court, was arrested and ordered held in Wayne County, Mich., jail on $100,000 bond after failing to appear on Monday for his original court date. Ruffin testified that he had a drug problem in 1967 but not since then. He said he spent time in a drug treatment center in November but “just to get my life together,” not because of drug problems.
