The most violent riots to hit Taiwan since 1949 spilled over into a second day, with demonstrators attacking police stations and burning cars in a rampage that injured more than 160 people before a rainstorm dispersed the protesters, authorities said. A police official said 93 people were arrested. More than 160 people, including 120 policemen and 11 journalists, were reported injured in the rioting that began at noon Friday as a government-approved demonstration by farmers demanding free medical insurance, a ban on American agricultural imports and other concessions.
