Two From Saddleback Reach Tennis Semifinals

Ed Peregrino and Craig O’Shannessey of Saddleback College advanced to the semifinal round of the state community college tennis tournament Friday at Oxnard.

Peregrino defeated Eric Rebitzer of Orange Coast, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3. O’Shannessey defeated Peter Killian of Santa Barbara, 2-6, 6-0, 6-1.

Peregrino and O’Shannessey will meet in one semifinal match today. In the other match, Rich Beijer of West Valley will play Toren Schultz of Foothill. Beijer beat Saddleback’s Mark Hanson, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, to advance to the semifinals.

Nikki Moffat and Cindy Hamnquist of Saddleback defeated Monica McLin and Crista Krucker of Orange Coast, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, in the quarterfinals of the women’s division to advance to today’s semifinal round at 2 p.m.
