Tuition Terms Eased After Student Protest

TUSKEGEE, Ala. — The Tuskegee University campus was quiet Sunday, after police evicted students from a building where they gathered Saturday to protest a crackdown on $2 million in overdue tuition fees, officials said.
The peaceful demonstration began Friday, when school officials said that students more than $300 in arrears in payments would not be allowed to take final exams and would get “incomplete” grades.
A university official said Saturday that the school had agreed to allow students who paid their bills by the end of the term to take exams, and that those who pay later can make up exams and complete their courses.
