Campaign ’88 : State Delegate Openings
California Democratic Chairman Peter D. Kelly announced Friday that the party is accepting applications for 314 of California’s 336 delegate slots at the Democratic National Convention in July.
Democrats will hold pre-primary caucuses May 1 in each of the state’s 45 congressional districts to choose slates of potential delegates for each presidential candidate, Kelly said.
Delegates will be awarded within each congressional district proportionate to the vote each candidate gets in the June 7 primary, provided the candidate gets at least 15% of the vote.
