Local News in Brief : Murder Suspect Sought

A neighbor was identified Tuesday as a suspect in the shooting death of an 11-year-old Compton girl whose bound and gagged body was found Monday by her mother in an abandoned guest house after a massive police search.
Compton police said an arrest warrant has been issued for Alfonso Howard, 21, in connection with the killing of Wendy Bustamante. Howard also uses the name Alphonso Williams Jr., police said.
Evidence found by police indicates that the girl was killed in Howard’s residence and her body dragged to the vacant building, Lt. Percy Perrodin said.
