Clippers Should Keep Shue, Find Some Players
- Share via
Many a time I have deliberated writing a letter about the poor performance of the Clippers, begging the front office to trade for NBA-caliber players. And then I read Chris Baker’s article that said that Donald Sterling, Alan Rothenberg and the other front-office incompetents are thinking of firing Gene Shue! Hiring Shue was the only intelligent decision these dolts have made.
How many times does Shue have to be quoted as saying, “We don’t have the talent to compete in the NBA,” before Sterling and his team of blowhards (with no intelligent basketball minds to speak of) actually go out and recruit NBA-caliber talent other than discards such as Greg Kite and Kenny Fields?
The present everyday lineup--two reserves starting at guard, a plodding, unconcerned center whose best games were in a no-talent collegiate conference and one legitimate NBA player, Michael Cage--would have a hard time beating North Carolina, not to mention the Celtics.
