BAKERSFIELD — A plane crashed Thursday into a schoolyard in Bakersfield, but authorities said only the pilot was injured.
“We have been told all the personnel and children are accounted for,” said Carol Thornburgh, a secretary at North Beardsley School in the Oildale area of north Bakersfield.
She said the plane hit a corner of the school building. Children reportedly were inside the classroom at the time, Thornburgh said.
The only person apparently injured was the pilot, Thornburgh said. His name was not immediately released.
