Local News in Brief : Fiedler Backs Gallegly’s Reelection to Congress
- Share via
Former Rep. Bobbi Fiedler (R-Northridge) has endorsed her successor, Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley), for reelection in the 21st Congressional District.
Fiedler did not seek a fourth term in 1986 when she unsuccessfully ran for the GOP nomination for a U. S. Senate seat.
“Elton Gallegly has done an outstanding job,” Fiedler said in a prepared statement released by Gallegly’s campaign Tuesday. “I wholeheartedly endorse his reelection efforts and will be doing whatever I can to support him.”
Gallegly faces a potentially well-financed primary challenge from Korean-born developer Sang R. Korman of Newbury Park. Political novice David Desko of Canoga Park also is seeking the GOP nomination.
