Donald J. Trump won federal government approval to buy up to 24.9% of MCA, parent of Universal Studios. Trump filed for permission with the Federal Trade Commission to buy a minority stake in MCA on Feb. 12 under the Hart-Scott-Rodino antitrust filing. MCA said in its statement that the 41-year-old real estate developer has “a present good faith intention to acquire at least $15 million worth of MCA shares.” The entertainment company disclosed last month that Trump already owned 375,000 MCA shares--about 0.5% of its total and worth just under $17 million. It also said that he planned to spend another $15 million on the way to acquiring up to 24.9%.
